In Jesus
Coming alive is growing deep in Jesus through a real, daily relationship—marked by nearness, conversation, and trust. Jesus isn’t a distant idea; He’s someone we walk with and grow closer to day by day.
These statements exist to highlight the core truths in Scripture that the Church is called to hold onto together—truths that help us live in the fullness of life God intended as His family.
A helpful framework for the church comes from St. Augustine: “In essentials, unity. In non-essentials, liberty. In everything, love.” The Christian faith holds certain core beliefs that anchor and shape the people of God, and these are teachings the church must remain united around. At the same time, church history shows that believers have often divided over secondary issues where there should instead be grace, humility, and freedom for people to grow and wrestle with their convictions as they follow Jesus.
Above all, the church is meant to be a family marked by love. Truth matters deeply, but truth without love becomes prideful, while love without truth loses its foundation. Jesus embodied both perfectly. For us, the essential beliefs we hold together include the authority of Scripture, the Gospel of Jesus’ death and resurrection, and salvation by grace through Jesus Christ that restores our relationship with God and one another.
